One in every four schools in Ontario have switched their business to Edge Imaging within the last five years.

A.C. Printing Co., a family-owned commercial print shop located in Olathe, KS, had offered some digital services previously, but demand for more short-run color projects with higher quality standards led it to buy a MGI Meteor DP8700 XL multi-substrate digital press.

With the addition of a MGI Meteor multi-substrate digital press, Ohio Northern University (ONU) has been able to streamline its operations, improve overall efficiency and keep the majority of the university’s work in-house. The Printing Services department is the main source for all printing needs on campus.

MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the French manufacturer of digital printing and finishing solutions, will premiere its new JETvarnish 3D inkjet spot UV coater with increased production speed and dynamic new 3D spot embossing capabilities at drupa 2012.

MGI Digital Graphic Technology will present a prototype of its new B2 (20x29") sheetfed UV inkjet press, the Alphajet, at drupa 2012. Commercial release of the six-color plus spot or flood UV coating machine is planned for 2013.

MGI Digital Graphic Technology and German industrial manufacturer Köra-Packmat have had a strategic industrial collaboration since 2005, which has now evolved with the formation of the MGI Group as a result of this deal. “With the evolution of our inkjet printing systems, it was important to fuse our industrial and economic synergies to better develop and manufacture future MGI print technologies,” said Edmond Abergel, MGI Group chairman.

MGI Digital Graphic Technology announced that Jim Hamilton, group director of InfoTrends, will host “Versatility in Action”—a panel discussion (webinar) with MGI Meteor digital press customers—on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. EST. “All three have a MGI Meteor digital press with very diverse applications and have each been successful in expanding their business opportunities.”
