How commercial printers can tap into new revenue streams with the label market, specific label inks, coatings, substrates and finishing

At the ISA Expo, Veritiv Corp. will share its value proposition in wide-format printing, substrates, supplies and equipment.

In April, Agfa Graphics will be launching new media under its Duratex brand at the 2015 ISA Sign Expo in Las Vegas. Additions include PVC Backlit Banner, Composite Blockout film, Super White Foamboard and Foam PVC Board. "We have a few substrate surprises up our sleeves at ISA," said Larry Salomon, of Agfa Graphics.

Continually expanding into new markets, Appleton Coated has introduced a new uncoated product line, Appleton Coated Fiscal Opaque. Designed and manufactured specifically for the financial printing and commercial printing segments, it is offered in both offset and web inkjet rolls.

Midland Paper reports that its Digital Edge Coated 1 Side (C1S) and Coated 2 Side (C2S) Board program for HP Indigo Technology has been a resounding success in 2014. "The most satisfying feedback we have received from our customers thus far is the superior ink adhesion of this product," said Mike Ratcliff of Midland Paper.

This year's SGIA Product of the Year competition was held at the 2014 Expo in Las Vegas, October 22-24. The contest showcased the best printers, technologies and consumables from the specialty imaging community. "Whether they were a seasoned company or an industry newcomer, each and every entry came to win," said Ray Weiss, SGIA’s digital imaging specialist.

Agfa Graphics is adding Dreamscape, the premier supplier of textural digital media for the décor market, to its specialty media assortment. Customers will now have access to a distribution network and wide-format application experts available from coast-to-coast. Agfa will be highlighting Dreamscape media at SGIA 2014 being held in Las Vegas this week.

At the SGIA Expo, Oct. 22-24, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Veritiv Corp. will feature wide- and grand-format media, products, equipment, and specialty packaging solutions at booth #2785.

Mohawk will launch a new line of inkjet substrates at GRAPH EXPO 2014 at its booth. The new Inkjet media line consists of four substrates—Mohawk Inkjet DuPont Tyvek, Mohawk Inkjet Polyester Pressure Sensitive Permanent Adhesive, Mohawk Inkjet Matte Backlit Film, Mohawk Inkjet Textured Lightblock Film—that are designed to support a wide variety of printing applications.

Epson is the official inkjet printer and paper partner for the "Wilderness Forever: 50 Years of Protecting America’s Wild Places," exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. The exhibition-quality prints were created with Epson’s 44" Epson Stylus Pro 9900 inkjet printer.
