ST. PAUL, Minn. — October 9, 2017 — The Vomela Companies have announced the acquisition of Tepel Brothers Printing of Troy, Mich. The acquired business will continue to operate under the name “Tepel Brothers Printing” as a division of C2 Imaging LLC, a business unit of The Vomela Companies.
Tepel Brothers Printing utilize specialized capabilities like customized packaging, lenticular printing, and print on plastics to set it apart from competitors. The company has coined the term “Printiques,” which describe techniques that ultimately add value to its clients’ projects. Unique coatings like Spot UV Gloss and SoftTouch have the ability to make a project feel like velvet or simulate hundreds of shimmering colors all in one press run. They also have a unique ability to print on plastics and synthetic substrates.
Jim Tepel, who has served as president and co-owner of Tepel Brothers Printing since 1989, will continue to lead the acquired business as division president. Tepel is highly enthusiastic about joining The Vomela Group and stated; “Tepel Brothers Printing has chosen well with this transaction. We are thrilled about the opportunities and capabilities the Vomela organization brings to Tepel Brothers clients. We are also looking forward to introducing the Tepel Brothers capabilities to the Vomela group and adding value throughout the impressive network.”

The Vomela Companies, a full-service specialty graphics provider that creates a variety of promotional, store décor, event, fleet, commercial and transportation graphics, is celebrating its 70th year in business. Tepel Brothers Printing represents its 18th acquisition in the past 20 years. Since being acquired by the Auth family in 1990, Vomela has grown from $3 million in annual revenue to an organization with projected annual revenues of $260 million, employing more than 1,200 people in 24 cities across the U.S. and Canada.

The Vomela Companies was ranked No. 22 on the most recent 2016 Printing Impressions 400 and is projecting 2017 revenues of $250 million. It employs more than 1,100 people within 20 cities in the United States and Canada. Elk Grove Graphics was ranked at No. 352, reporting annual sales of $11.2 million and 45 employees.
