Enovation Graphic Systems bid farewell to president and vice chairman Jim Mullan on March 31, marking his retirement and ending a 34-year career in the graphic arts. Mullan was named president of Enovation when the company was formed in October 2001 and has served as its vice chairman since April 2003. In other news, Lawrence Warter, director, new business development, is the eleventh recipient of the Roland Zavada Standards Award, “The Rollie,” presented by The Committee for Graphic Arts Technologies Standards (CGATS). The award was presented June 9 during the IPA Technical Conference in Chicago. The award recognizes an individual who has made significant and sustained contributions to the development of U.S. graphic arts standards through participation in the work of accredited standards committees.
Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) and Screen (USA) are building a better partnership. After selling 31 Screen platesetters during the month of March, KPG has announced an agreement under which KPG now offers co-branded KPG/Screen CTP and workflow solutions to customers in the United States and Canada. Under the agreement, KPG markets, sells and supports the following Screen thermal platesetting devices: PlateRite 4100 and 4300 four-up platesetters; PlateRite 8600, 8000II and 8100 eight-up platesetters; and the PlateRite Ultima series of large-format platesetters for four-up and larger commercial printing and package printing output applications.
Jon Surch has been named vice president of service, sheetfed operations, for MAN Roland. Juerg Spittler has been promoted to vice president of business development, sheetfed operations. He previously served as assistant vice president of sheetfed operations. Chris Howes has been appointed assistant vice president of sales support, sheetfed operations. A 23-year MAN Roland veteran, Howes previously served as the company’s director of sales administration.
