ANDOVER, MA— May 12, 2008—Hunkeler AG, a world leader in high-performance paper handling systems, will show a comprehensive portfolio of unwinding, rewinding, cutting, merging, stacking, and web finishing solutions throughout the halls at drupa 2008 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Fourteen different industry-leading digital print and mail inserting system suppliers will show versatile Hunkeler solutions tailored to meet the application requirements of the commercial print, book publishing, data center, transpromotional, financial print, direct mail, and label markets.
The new Standard Hunkeler Gen6 series unwinders, rewinders, fanfolders, cutters, double-cutters and stackers will take center stage at drupa. Designed to work with high-speed digital printers at up to 720 feet/minute, with superior paper handling performance on a wide range of paper weights, and cross-web chip-outs for full-color bleeds, the proven Gen6 series will be shown with industry-leading printer vendors including HP (Hall 8), Infoprint Solutions Company (Hall 9); Kodak (Hall 5); Nipson (Hall 4); Oce (Hall 6); and Punch Graphix, Screen, and Xerox (Hall 8).
Hunkeler will also demonstrate best-in-class leadership in the high speed mail inserting space, together with technology leaders Pitney Bowes (Hall 4), Matthias Bäuerle (Hall 13), and Buhrs (Hall 14).
Around the theme ‘Huncolor-ready,’ Hunkeler will present their expertise and commitment to serve the fast-growing continuous-feed ink-jet and digital color markets with solutions specifically designed for full-bleed trimming and extra-sensitive paper handling to avoid any propensity for marking. As continuous-feed digital color printers ramp-up to even higher throughput speeds, “Huncolor-ready” paper handling will deliver the transpromotional, direct mail and publishing end-products customers want.
Among the all-new innovations Hunkeler will display at drupa 2008:
To complement the Standard Hunkeler Gen6 series, the new WM6-uneven Web Merger has been designed for transactional customers who need to dynamically bring together even or uneven sets at very high production speeds. The WM6 system can be seen in live production on the Hunkeler booth (Hall 14, stand A40).
