GREG CAPTAIN is manager of The New Yorker Imaging Center, Condé Nast Publications, and is responsible for the production workflow of the images in conjunction with the editorial staff for all edit pages for The New Yorker. Captain's career began in 1978 as a sheetfed press tender. In 1994, he joined the publishing world and was part of a team that brought prepress services in-house for The New Yorker Magazine, under Condé Nast Publications. One year later, he was named to head up and expand The New Yorker Imaging Center. The new facility he designed brought The New Yorker Imaging Center to a 100 percent digital capability and into the world of CTP and a total PDF workflow, as well as introducing The New Yorker to FM/Stochastic screening.
