Walle Corp., a label supplier to the beverage, food and household products industry, has appointed Sean Keeney to succeed (his grandfather) Cecil Keeny as CEO. Cecil Keeny, who purchased the Harahan, LA-based company in 1980, is retiring after 25 years of service with Walle Corp.
Willem Nieuwboer has been appointed as the new chief technology officer and vice president of GFX International, Grayslake, IL. Before joining GFX, a marketing-at-retail design and production firm, Nieuwboer worked with Fortune 100 companies including Adidas, Perrier, Coca-Cola, Apple, Disney and IBM.
Two key additions have been made to the executive team at Travel Tags, a plastic card printer based in Inver Grove Heights, MN. Dennis Carlson has joined the company as the new vice president of sales. Dave Gilbert has joined as vice president of business development.
The Printing & Publishing Council of New England (PPCNE) announced that Catherine “Kitty” St. Sauveur, president of Boston-based Alliance Print Group, has been named the 2007 recipient of the Ben Franklin Award. The award was presented to St. Sauveur, who is the second woman to ever win the award, at an industry awards gala earlier this month.
The sales team of Dallas-based Padgett Printing has a new representative: Kevin Wood, a 15-year commercial printing industry veteran whose most recent position was with George Rice & Sons.
Connie Smith has been promoted to vice president and controller at Upper Valley Press in North Haverhill, NH. Smith first joined the newspaper and advertising printer as accounting manager and a member of its senior management team in 1997.
