Mahwah, NJ-based Ramsey Press hired industry veteran Mac Byrd as its new head of marketing. Byrd, whose expertise is in demand marketing, strategic brand positioning and product brand management with companies like Agfa and Kodak, will head up a brand marketing campaign for Ramsey Press.
Baltimore-based Vertis Communications has appointed Ted LeBow as vice president, division manager, of its North Brunswick, NJ, location.
Dayton, OH-based WorkflowOne, a provider of print and promotional products, has hired Antonio “Tony” Bova as the new operations manager of its digital print and business service center in Columbus. Bova was the former operations manager for the print and exceptions departments of CitiGroup’s statement processing facility.
Lont & Overkamp Printing, a 105-year-old commercial printing operation based in Prospect Park, NJ, has hired Ron Dobbs as its new quality control manager/sales representative. Dobbs was the former owner of Future Graphics and Media, and will help L&O expand into new markets.
The PIA/GATF has named John Santos recipient of its 2007 Education Awards of Excellence. Santos teaches graphic arts at Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles and is the founder of the school’s Imaging Sciences & Technology Academy (ISTA), which, in 2004, was designated as the “Model Academy Program” by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Since 2005, 90 percent of ISTA graduates have advanced to colleges, where they are studying graphic communications. Santos also co-founded “Viva Technology,” a national program to motivate minority students to consider science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.
The new president and COO of Hazelwood, MO-based sister companies Bernadette Print Group and Jet Envelope is George Mitschele Jr. Before joining Bernadette, Mitschele served as CFO of the environmental engineering firm of Skelly and Loy, and previously served in management positions with USA Direct, a direct mail printing and fulfillment firm, and Glatfelter Papers.
