Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Celebrates 60 Years of Giving to Students
WARRENDALE, Pa.—January 25, 2016—In 2016, the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) celebrates 60 years of providing educational funding assistance to worthy graphic communication students. Founded in 1956, PGSF has grown into the industry’s largest scholarship program, now annually providing in excess of $410,000 to over 200 students.
PGSF is a not-for-profit, private, industry-directed organization that dispenses vocational, undergraduate college scholarships and graduate fellowship assistance to talented men and women interested in graphic communication careers. The mission of the PGSF is "to strengthen the print and graphic communication industry by providing scholarship assistance." Since its creation, PGSF has awarded over 7,000 scholarships to students preparing for careers in the graphic communications field. Many have gone on to become leaders in companies both supplying to and producing within the industry. PGSF operates under the control of a board of directors comprised of industry leaders and educators dedicated to furthering its goals and mission.
"We’re proud to have reached this significant milestone," said John Berthelsen, vice president of development, PGSF. "Through the generous donation and support of industry-leading individuals and organizations from all over the country, we have been able to build for the future of our industry one student at a time."
To mark this diamond anniversary, PGSF is asking for pledge donations to the fund. For a contribution of $60 per month, donors can help graphic communication students all over the country continue their education without the burden of worrying about educational funding.
"Being able to stress a little less about money really allows me to focus more on my studies and the career path I want to take," noted Danielle Wood, third-year graphic communication student at California Polytechnic State University and PGSF recipient. "I am eternally grateful for all PGSF does for me and all the other college students in situations similar to mine!"

The mission of PGSF is “to strengthen the print and graphic communication industry by providing scholarship assistance.” In 2015, over 200 students, attending 82 schools, were provided with support totaling over $400,000.
