Overbridge Technology Introduces Two New Versions of Award-winning EclipseCount
EMMAUS, PA— August 13, 2007—Overbridge Technology has responded to the needs of the web printing industry with two new additions to its line of award-winning EclipseCount products. The original EclipseCount (now renamed EclipseCount-DL) has been joined by EclipseCount-XA and EclipseCount-CB.
With the addition of its newest enhancement, FlexCount, EclipseCount-XA now has ‘no comparison’ in the industry due to the technology and methodology it uses for signature counting. Principal Mark Daugherty described the new version as ‘the signature counting and log monitoring solution for presses equipped with sophisticated automated signature handling and robotic palletizers.’
With the FlexCount enhancement on EclipseCount-XA, there are many options to use - either in addition to, or to replace waste weighing:
• divert conveyor stream monitoring
• stacker stream divert monitoring
• in-stream signature counting
• stacker log count monitoring
The varying methods can be used singularly or in combination as the software automatically ‘understands’ what methods are in place and determines how to process accordingly.
Prior to FlexCount, deriving a net count was the result of weight waste and subtracting it from a good count.
With the enhancements, waste weighing can be part of the solution.
EclipseCount-XA processes signature count from folder delivery through divert gates, stacker log output, and palletizer log content. Other features include ZMR (auto-transfer) with automatic form sequencing, load ticket generation, and stacker jam monitoring with waste count offset, palletizer monitoring and detailed log counting.
The other new version, EclipseCount-CB, is a great solution for those who just need a counting device, and is ideal for pressrooms where operations are recorded by other business systems. It can handle up to two streams, using waste scales and/or in-stream counters, and features an optional ZMR (auto-transfer) and divert gate monitoring. It also provides real time gross count, net count and amount of paper required/used.
