NPES Get Out The Vote 2006 Campaign
RESTON, VA—When all is said and done, the most effective way of ensuring government policies that are supportive of NPES members’ interests is by electing people to Congress who share the same vision and values on issues such as capital investment tax policy, product liability reforms like a federal statute of repose, postal reform and other issues affecting the Association’s members and their customers. Nothing less is at stake in this year’s mid-term congressional elections.
Regardless of which political party “controls” Congress, it is imperative that there be a solid majority of members of both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate who will vote for policies that advance the interests of NPES, its members and their customers. Therefore, it is vital that people in the printing, publishing and converting industry register and vote in the November 7, 2006 elections.
To assist this effort, NPES has created a special Get Out The Vote 2006 section of the Association’s web site. NPES members who click on the Get Out The Vote 2006 link will be directed to election authorities providing voter registration and absentee ballot information. In addition, information on all Senate and House races is provided, along with a voting score card for incumbent members of the 109th Congress.
Urge Your Employees to Vote!
NPES strongly urges Association member companies to conduct your own Get Out The Vote 2006 campaigns by encouraging your employees to register and vote on November 7, 2006. Most states end voter registration fifteen to thirty days before the election - so act now. NPES member companies that report that they are engaging their employees in such an effort will be recognized at the 2006 NPES Annual Conference.
