New Leaf Paper Sets Standard with Reincarnation 100 Coated Paper
OAKLAND, CA—January 22, 2014—New Leaf Paper has set a new environmental standard with the national launch of New Leaf Reincarnation 100, the first coated paper made in the United States from 100 percent post-consumer recycled waste (PCW). Most recycled coated papers made in the United States fall well below this standard, containing only 10 percent to 30 percent PCW.
New Leaf Reincarnation 100 is the latest in a long history of environmentally superior product innovations at New Leaf Paper, a company well respected for its leadership in driving sustainability in the paper industry. The new 100 percent PCW sheet is being praised for sharp printability and detailed image reproduction.
Lisa Fink, senior marketing communications specialist/designer with BARD, Peripheral Vascular said, "I was totally impressed with the New Leaf sheet on press this week. It's got a nice feel. And the varnish really sat on top of the sheet. Great ink holdout too!"
Reincarnation 100 is the only 100 percent PCW coated paper made in the United States that has achieved the Ancient Forest Friendly designation, the highest independent standard for sustainability in the paper industry. It is manufactured with Green-e certified renewable wind energy.
"We're delighted with this advance in sustainable paper and proud to recognize it with Canopy's rigorous Ancient Forest Friendly designation," noted Nicole Rycroft, founder and executive director of Canopy. "New Leaf is providing North American print customers with a way to achieve high quality color reproduction while knowing they are making a choice that helps take pressure off the world's last large intact tracts of ancient forest."
Environmental attributes of New Leaf Reincarnation 100 reflect New Leaf Paper's holistic approach to sustainability:
