Muscle Bound Bindery Names Mat Browne Vice President and General Manager
MINNEAPOLIS—Muscle Bound Bindery, a full-service provider of hardcover and softcover bookbinding solutions, announces Mat Browne’s promotion to vice president and general manager, effective Jan. 1, 2015.
Browne joined the company in 2004 and since then has served in various production, estimating, scheduling and management capacities. Prior to Muscle Bound Bindery, he served as planner, purchaser, estimator and CAD designer at Banta. He holds a B.S. in Graphic Communication Management from University of Wisconsin, Stout School of Industrial Technology.
Browne assumes company leadership from retiring 42-year company veteran Gary Hansen, who has served in many capacities at Muscle Bound Bindery, sister company Lerner Publishing Group and parent company Lerner Universal.
“In the rapidly changing upper Midwest graphic arts community, customer needs come first,” says Browne. “A promise made is a promise kept at Muscle Bound Bindery.”
Browne will continue Hansen’s strategic plan of making intelligent investments in bookbinding technologies that provide benefits to Muscle Bound Bindery customers. Recent examples include improvements in PUR glue, turned edge cover manufacturing, and attaching capabilities.
“Mat is the rare leader who equally prioritizes customer experience and production efficiency,” says Adam Lerner, CEO of Lerner Universal. “There will be no learning curve for Mat in his new position.”
Lerner Universal Chairman of the Board Harry Lerner reflected on Gary Hansen’s 42 years of exemplary service. “Simply said, Lerner Universal would not be the company it is today without the rock steady stewardship of Gary Hansen.” After a brief pause, he added, “Gary, thank you for everything.”
