Memphis' Kemmons Wilson Acquires Pinnacle Press
MEMPHIS—Wilson Graphics, a Kemmons Wilson Company, has acquired Pinnacle Press, a printer specializing in graphic consulting, electronic prepress services, printing, finishing, fulfillment and inventory management. The company will operate under the corporate name Pinnacle.
Officials say the new company will be one of the most complete graphic communications companies in the mid-South region.
"We are very pleased with this acquisition and believe the strengths of Pinnacle Press fit well into our strategic business plans. These businesses are very complementary and we feel the consolidation will create synergy in all areas," explains Tony Hunt, president and CEO of Pinnacle.
"In addition, we are significantly increasing our press and electronic prepress capabilities, which will benefit our combined client base and allow for future growth," Hunt adds.
The former Pinnacle Press business partners and management team of Ed Garavelli and Jeff McClain will be joining Pinnacle in key senior management roles.
"This acquisition is a prime opportunity for both companies to become one very strong graphic communications company. I am very enthusiastic about our association with the Kemmons Wilson Companies and believe this positions Pinnacle for dynamic growth in the future," Garavelli says.
"The combined years of experience, coupled with a unique expertise in this industry, will allow Pinnacle to be an industry leader," notes McClain.
Current sales, administrative and most production functions will be consolidated at the former Pinnacle Press corporate office here, while fulfillment operations will be housed at the former Wilson Graphics office.
Kemmons Wilson, founded by Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson, is one of the largest employers in the mid-South and consists of companies in various industries, including hospitality, real estate development and insurance.
