Let's Celebrate Spring with Orchids
Spring is finally here in the city of brotherly love and what better way to celebrate than by taking a look at this issue of the American Orchid Society's Orchids magazine (November 2013), which was entered into the 2014 Gold Ink Awards under the Specialty Magazines/Web category. Produced by Lawrence, KS-based publication printer Allen Press, on Harris web offset and Komori presses, and printed on paper from Sappi Fine Paper, the magazine embraces the orchid lover's passion for the beautiful and diverse family of flowering plants.
The cover (shown in the photo tab to the right) of the issue immediately grabs the reader's attention with the magazine's title displayed in Bold White capital letters, with nothing but beautiful pink and yellow orchids flowing in the background. The magazine is dedicated to all levels of orchid growers, and features in-depth articles on the various types of orchids and maintenance, along with crisp, eye-catching images.
Did you know that former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was often seen wearing Cattleya corsages while giving lectures around the world? (an image of Mrs. Roosevelt is shown in the photo tab to the upper right)
