NEW YORK CITY—August 22, 2007—Virtual proofing is changing the way many graphic arts professionals are working with their clients: it’s allowing them to collaborate with precise color accuracy, while also enabling them to cut costs and save time. Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), the leader in virtual proofing, will demonstrate its award-winning Remote Director monitor proofing software live during Graph Expo 2007 at ICS’ booth (#5237). Attendees will see how the powerful tool can be integrated into their individual workflow system, as the show kicks off on September 9, 2007 at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.
Remote Director is easily integrated into virtually any workflow and is being used by printers, publishers, advertising and design agencies as well as pre-media studios and trade shops.
ICS’ Remote Director was ranked in the highest category for soft proofing at this year’s IPA Technical Conference. “This is the second year that Remote Director has received top marks, indicating to the industry that virtual proofing is a reliable and accurate solution that provides an exceptional match between monitors and the final printed pieces,” says Dan Caldwell, vice president of operations for ICS.
ICS introduced Remote Director 3.5 earlier this year, adding a suite of features designed to ease and enhance integration, and to improve productivity for all of its users – from agencies to printers – no matter what the workflow.
Remote Director 3.5 also features:
- support for Photoshop native (.psd) file format
- ICC profile editing for better color manipulation and control
- email notification, allowing for immediate notification that files are ready for viewing/approval
- single image sign-off
- optional customer branding, allowing users to build and promote their brand to their clients
Remote Director’s Application Programming Interface (API) allows various workflow integrations, enabling users to proof from within their existing workflow, without the need to launch a separate application. Users can create proofs, set the proof requirements, invite viewers and set their user permissions directly from within their workflow. The invited viewers simply click on the proof link in their email notification, which launches the Remote Director application and verifies their monitors’ color status for proof viewing. Once the proof has been viewed, the original user is notified from within their own workflow (through an API call to the hosting software) or by email notification with a proof link that the proof has been viewed.
