Geos Sending Personalized Postcards to Military Personnel for Free
SOUTHLAKE, TX— Sept. 28, 2010—Andy Berman, CEO of Geos Communications, parent company of Shoot it!, announced today the launch of Operation Postcards—a free service, in support of our troops, that allows anyone to send personalized postcards to U.S. military personnel stationed anywhere around the globe.
Sending a postcard process is free and simple:
• Visit www.operationpostcards.com.
• Choose any photo from your computer that you would like to appear on the front of your postcard (Real postcards can also be sent from your smartphone by using the Shoot it! mobile app, which is available at http://operationpostcards.com/download.aspx).
• Fill in the mailing address for any active U.S. military personnel (must be an APO or FPO designation).
• Type a brief message.
• Then Shoot it! A REAL personalized postcard will be delivered to the soldier, airman, seaman or marine in a matter of days via the US Postal Service.
“Operation Postcards is an incredibly easy way to send someone you care about in the US military a truly one-of-a-kind, personalized message,” said Steve Wilen, President of Shoot it!. “Geos Communications and Shoot it! are proud to sponsor this program. It’s our way of saying thank you to the men and women who serve our great country.”
Geos Communications and Shoot it! will cover the printing and mailing costs for the first 50,000 postcards sent to military personnel. As Operation Postcards expands, Geos Communications will partner with other companies who wish to participate in the program.
The technology behind Operation Postcards is powered by Shoot it!, which is both a mobile and web-based application that allows users to create and send personal messages via REAL paper postcards using their smartphone or computer.
Shoot it!
Shoot it! is Geos’ visual communications, mobile postcard messaging application that allows users to take a photo, type a personal message and send a REAL paper postcard from anywhere in the world to any mailbox in the world. Real postcards can also be sent from a personal computer using the Shoot it! web application.
This new "postcard messaging" service blends old technology with new technology while giving the consumer a tangible alternative to SMS or MMS.
