Graphic Communications Leadership Institute Launches Management Development Program for Emerging Leaders
In response to the challenges confronting Graphic Communication companies, GCLI is launching a rigorous cutting-edge leadership development program. The seminar series targets industry companies seeking to prepare the next generation of business leaders with a well-rounded foundation in leadership and managerial expertise. The program is set to begin during the First Quarter of 2021.
The curriculum is built upon four foundational areas: Strategic Planning, Sales Leadership, Financial Controls, and, Operational Excellence. Seminar modules will be presented by industry veterans, Joseph P. Truncale, Ph.D, CAE, Mike Philie, and, Gregory S. D’Amico, Ph.D.
Joe Truncale is the Principal and Founder of Alexander Joseph & Associates and former President and CEO of NAPL. Mike Philie is the Founder and Principal of the PhilieGroup, and a former printing company President and senior-level sales executive. Greg D’Amico is the Principal and Founder of FMS, Inc. and has held senior faculty positions in Graphic Communications Management &Technology at New York University, Rochester Institute of Technology, and NAPL’s Management Institute.
Learning outcomes for each of the four foundational areas are as follows: Strategic Planning: Preparing for strategy sessions; prioritizing objectives; Conducting an effective SWOT analysis; Assigning responsibility while ensuring accountability.
Sales Leadership: Building an effective sales plan; Recruiting, retention, and compensation in today’s marketplace; Sales performance and coaching that leads to results.
Financial Controls: Understanding and controlling your costs through your economics; Financial application, diagnostics and decision making; How to apply conventional and bootstrap financing;
Operational Excellence: Project management, planning and control; quality assurance and SPC; Evaluating breakthrough opportunities with new technological applications; Affecting positive cash flow.
The three-year program is made up of Quarterly 1-Day Courses that include customized breakout sessions with faculty. Virtual “check in” sessions every 45 days serve to keep participants on track between workshops. Two of the quarterly workshops will be hosted at a Vendor/Supplier Training Facility and at a selected Printing Plant location each year.
