FetterGroup to Establish Presence in the West with New Facility in Reno
LOUISVILLE, KY—OCTOBER 29, 2009—After 121 years of operation in Louisville, FetterGroup, a marketing distribution and packaging provider, is expanding its operations to the western United States with the opening of a 12,000 sq.ft. facility in Reno, NV—providing high quality digital printing, bindery, fulfillment, and distribution services.
FetterGroup President and CEO, Terry Gill, says the company chose Reno for its because it “provides convenient access to California specifically, and gives us a strategic advantage for distribution across the western U.S. We looked into several cities during our planning phase and in the end Reno had the right blend of accessibility, skilled work force and low operating costs. We are thrilled to join the diverse Reno community.”
This expansion means continued growth opportunities for FetterGroup, which expects 2010 sales to increase by more than 20%. “Our healthcare marketing division is the main contributor to our record growth this year,” says Gill, “We see this trend continuing into 2010 and beyond. Our consumer packaged goods division also stands to benefit from this expansion with access to the West Coast wine markets and improved distribution across the country.”
To support their growth, FetterGroup has hired five new employees in 2009 and plans to add three to five more positions by the end of the year. Wages for these jobs are competitive and reflect the technical skills required for both salaried and hourly positions. 2010 job growth is anticipated but no new jobs have been announced at this time.
FetterGroup has also invested $700,000 in new equipment purchases in 2009 with an additional $2 million budgeted for infrastructure growth in 2010. Equipment purchases across the enterprise for 2009 include a Hewlett-Packard 3500 digital press, 8 pocket high-speed collation device, an MBO 8 page folder and a Stahl B26 2640 16 page continuous feed folder, and a Heidelberg/Polar DCM System automated Die Cutter with in-line auto banding.
