BRAINTREE—Braintree Printing had added a second five-color Ryobi 755 series press to its fleet of offset presses.
TAYLOR—Printwell Printing reports that it's one of the first printers worldwide to install a Kodak NexPress SX model digital press. This introduces Kodak's new HD inks, as well as the larger, 26˝ sheet-size capability, to the Detroit metro area.
MINNEAPOLIS—Imagine! Print Solutions has been re-qualified as a G7 Master Printer by IDEAlliance. This is the company's fourth consecutive year as a G7 Master Printer.
NORTH KANSAS CITY—Since installing a 40˝, eight-color Mitsubishi Diamond 3000R convertible perfector with dual coaters and a four-color Diamond 3000R convertible perfector with aqueous coater, Watkins Lithographic has reported cleaner images, shorter makereadies and faster printing speeds. They replace two existing 40˝ presses and a 26˝ model.
BELLMAWR—Long Island Parent (Wordsmiths Media) has selected Evergreen Printing to print its bi-monthly, 65,000 copy, free publication.
CLIFTON—Sandy Alexander has acquired a six-color Durst Rho 500R UV inkjet system.
HEMPSTEAD—Since becoming certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), Sentinel Printing has installed both energy- efficient lighting throughout its plant and solar panels.
ISLANDIA—Island Pro Digital, which was founded in 2009 by Kurt and Kyle Kubik, has been named the "2011 Rookie of the Year" by the Hauppauge Industrial Association to recognize its customer service excellence.
ISLANDIA—Mailmen Inc. has completed its acquisition of the Madcar Co., allowing it to add specialty packaging, kit assembly and fulfillment services to its direct mail marketing capabilities. Based in Ronkonkoma, Madcar will maintain its name, operating as a division of Mailmen Inc.
