Colter & Peterson to Demo Prism Paper Cutter, Function Control Counting System
PATERSON, N.J.—September 10, 2015—Colter & Peterson (booth 3625) will offer demonstrations for both a highly popular paper cutter and the new Function Control P7 optical sheet counter, plus display a wide range of affordable and automated Microcut systems for paper cutters at GRAPH EXPO. The four-day show runs from Sept. 13-16, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
The 31.5” Prism P80 combines outstanding design qualities, performance and price point that makes it attractive and hard to match in the marketplace. Very durable and easy to operate, the first thing someone notices is the state-of-the-art design and electronics capability. The P80 also offers a new slotless table and is equipped with a Microcut package that includes a 15” touch screen.
“We are tremendously excited at having the opportunity to demonstrate the Prism P80 at GRAPH EXPO. This machine has cutting edge, automated technology so it has everything a printer needs for fast, safe and cost-effective operation. It takes cutting paper to a whole new level with bottom line performance and reliability,” remarked Bruce Peterson, president of Colter & Peterson.
One way C&P has earned its designation as North America’s foremost authority and largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment, is through its outstanding Microcut systems. The computerized back gauge program has an impeccable track record with close to 35,000 worldwide installations. The reason for its popularity? It can improve productivity by as much as 50 percent and can be used with any brand paper cutter ranging in size from 20-150”.
They also cost a fraction of the purchase price of a new paper cutter.
Saving money for offset printers is exactly what the P7 optical sheet counter does. C&P is the North America distributor for Function Control, a leading European company in optical sheet counting and ream marking. The P7 counter reduces errors by eliminating the guesswork in determining counts, providing accurate measurements for stacks of paper, board, corrugated and other substrates and does so without ever touching it through technology.
When demonstrated at GRAPH EXPO, visitors will learn how simple the P7 makes counting paper. It is available in two different speed versions – standard or high speed – and requires very little room with a compact, vertical footprint.
“The P7 is something to see and it can handle stacks up to 70” in height without anyone needing to touch it,” said Richard Peereboom, C&P sales manager. “It has a great design so this machine can fit anywhere. The P7 has door panels that can be accessed on multiple sides, and the touchscreen panel is flexible so it can be located on three sides in different working heights. The LED indicator signals the operator when the stack is in the correct range for a fast and accurate count, and all they have to do is push a button. It’s that simple.”
Simple is how each Microcut system performs. It memorizes the cutting sequences so the back gauge can automatically move into position to deliver a precise trim within 1/64 of an inch. Most of the Microcut control systems will be on display at GRAPH EXPO, including Microcut PLUS WS. It offers time-saving benefits such as microcip and microfacts, and assists programs by uploading from a network connection with a USB device using 3/4 files with no additional hardware or software required.
