Wallkill—The Watchtower Society of the Jehovah's Witnesses has ordered a completely integrated hard cover book production line for installation in a new addition to the facility that is being constructed here. The solution is anchored by Muller Martini's Corona adhesive binding system and a pair of the company's Diamant hard cover casing-in lines.
TULSA—Alco Laminations, a 27-year-old graphic finisher, has changed its name to alco print finishers. Although known for its expertise in a variety of film laminating processes, the company will concentrate on providing a wider variety of services, including UV coating, mounting for displays, diecutting and folding/gluing.
Mayfield—The P.A. Hutchison Co. is now producing perfect bound books on a new AmigoPlus from Muller Martini. The P.A. Hutchison Co. is a family owned, privately-held corporation serving book publishers and commercial accounts.
OLD FORGE—Penn Creative Litho has expanded its operations with the addition of a five-color, 20x29.5˝ MAN Miller perfecting press and a Konica 8031 digital color press.
PHILADELPHIA—Mail-Well Graphics Philadelphia recently held a plant tour for local third-grade students, which included a demonstration of the entire printing process. The children were all given a carry bag, stress ball and "gold" pen to take home with them.
CHAPIN—The FB Johnston Group printing facility here has met the requirements for the ISO 9001:2000 standard, according to Quality Systems Registrars. This certification covers the production of printed products in both sheet and roll form. FB Johnston Plant Manager Laurie Gantt said the certification was achieved primarily through continuous quality improvement efforts.
