4 Expo Educational Sessions to Check Out
We're now only a month away from PRINTING United Expo (Oct. 22-24, Orlando, Florida) and if you're anything like me, you're already making your plan for the booths you want to visit, the people you want to catch up with, and the educational sessions you know you don't want to miss.
There are more than 75 educational sessions to choose from, but here are four suggestions to get you started.
Optimizing Your Postage Spending with USPS Promotions and Incentives
As postage costs rise, it's crucial for print service providers (PSPs) to take advantage of postal promotions and cost savings when available. At noon on opening day of the Expo, there will be a session hosted by Leanne Herman, director of Postal Affairs at Sepire, and Glen Swyers, director of Marketing Integration at Imagine Group. Herman and Swyers will give an overview of the USPS Promotions and Mail Growth Incentive program; they will take a deep dive into what qualifies; and they will explore how to effectively combine Mail Growth Incentives with promotional discounts to maximize your savings.
Adapting to the New Era of Commercial Printing: Profitability Pivots, Punts, and Plays
If you're looking for a session that taps into the data, pencil in noon on Thursday, Oct. 23 onto your calendar. Alliance Insights' Lisa Cross, principal analyst, and Nathan Safran, vice president, research, will guide attendees through the competitive landscape of running a profitable commercial printing business and how it has evolved. This session will explore the critical pivots, punts, and plays that can drive profitability and competitive advantage based on industry insights, real-world examples, and Alliance Insights surveys of commercial printers and their clients. Attendees can be sure to walk away with strategies and tactics to drive their businesses forward.
The Top 10 Growth Mistakes Printers Make – And How to Avoid Them
Speaking of growth, one of the benefits of attending events and networking is to work through challenges and learn from the successes and the mistakes of your peers. On Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 1:00 p.m., Colin Sinclair McDermott, founder of The Online Print Coach, will guide attendees through some of the most common growth challenges PSPs face and how to address them. Attendees will walk away with actionable insights to future-proof their businesses.
Printing Industry Outlook 2026
One of the most popular sessions each year is the forward-looking outlook, hosted by Andy Paparozzi, chief economist at Alliance Insights. This year, he will present with fellow Alliance economist Onamica Dhar, and they will discuss insights into the printing industry’s 2026 growth prospects and business environment. Topics will include products expected to grow fastest, capital investment plans and objectives, the printing industry’s next big disruptor, the AI experience, where the American economy is likely headed, why, and what it will mean for the printing industry.
Listed above are just four sessions that make up the comprehensive educational session list during the Expo. If you're interested in sales, embellishments, wide-format printing, promotional products, apparel, M&A, or myriad other topics, take a look through the sessions here.
