Bill Schweinfurth explains Kodak's Extended Gamut and Varnish (XGV) technology demonstration showing flexible films being produced on a narrow web. It features seven Kodak S-Series systems, which are capable of printing CMYK and an extended gamut of CMYK plus orange, green and violet. The configuration also includes an additional station printing a water-based digital varnish. The demo utilizes environmentally-friendly aqueous inks compliant with Indirect Food Contact directives bonding on to flexible films, which is unique in the industry.
