This blog is being written on Friday, June 17. It is 8:42 a.m. Eastern time and I've just gotten back from a walk. That fact is only significant in that it took me all week to walk one mile up Franklin Street and one mile back while re-listening to Amy Poehler's hilarious autobiography, "Yes Please." Every day for the last week I have promised myself that I would go for a walk and every day I broke that promise. This morning worked only because I did it first thing.
And that is the simple tip.
Every day should end with a feeling of accomplishment, don’t you agree? The best way I know of to achieve that feeling is to get one to three things from my task list completed. Preferably, my top one to three things but I will drop the bar in exchange for the belief that today was a good day.
Looking at your mental or physical to do list, I bet there are a few things that take precedent. Starting tomorrow morning, complete one of those tasks. Just one. Do it first thing and do not put it off. Just see how that feels.
Perhaps it will start a trend in your life. A good one.
One thing.
One task.
Check! Smile!
For me, a partially torn rotator-cuff-to-bicep tendon has ended my days in the gym until the pending fall surgery re-attaches and heals said tendon. So, I will work on my cardio one day at a time. I will make it a priority and I will do it first thing.
Starting now.
