TAKING DIRECT marketing to the next level is something the executive team at Swedesboro, NJ-based Direct Group knows a thing or two about. Last year, the fully integrated direct marketing solutions provider invested heavily in new equipment to leverage digital color printing technology for clients in both its direct mail and fulfillment areas.

Direct Group, a fully integrated direct marketing solutions provider, announced today that it will install a second Océ JetStream™ 2200 system at its facility in Swedesboro, N.J. this month. The JetStream 2200 is a high-speed, fully variable, color inkjet, continuous press that provides some of the most advanced digital printing capabilities available in the world. The company installed the first such system in the U.S. at the same facility in May of this year. The new system will feature magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) capabilities, a highly precise check-printing tool that has become increasingly important to direct marketers.

MONTREAL—Newly minted integrated direct marketing services provider Transcontinental CC3 has acquired certain assets of Dallas-based Liberty Graphics, a direct marketing services and commercial print provider. Liberty Graphics posted annual sales of U.S.$9 million. CC3 parent company Transcontinental announced that more than 40 Liberty Graphics employees would be hired, with certain direct mail and fulfillment equipment coming over to Transcontinental CC3's 95,000-square-foot facility in Dallas-Fort Worth. The acquisition raises annual capacity at the plant to more than 500 million litho printed forms and laser personalized letters.
