Precision Technology Shuts Out 130

PEMBROKE, NH—Precision Technology, a printer of direct mail advertisements, closed without warning Aug. 27, leaving 130 employees in shock and without jobs, according to the Concord Monitor. President and owner Dennis Savitsky owes the city more than $280,000 in back taxes, according to the paper, and is apparently in violation of the federal WARN Act, which stipulates that companies with more than 100 workers must provide 60 days closure notice.

SAN LEANDRO, CA—Brad Kisner, president of INX Digital, died Aug. 22 after suffering a heart attack while visiting family in Santa Cruz, CA. He was 47. Mr. Kisner’s name was synonymous with Triangle inks, from the founding of Triangle Digital with his brother Ken, in 2002, through its evolution as a major component of INX Digital’s multifaceted offerings. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and three children.
 
Death Penalty Vacated for Printer's Murderer

PITTSBURGH—A man who was twice convicted for the 1985 murder and robbery of a printing store clerk here had his death sentence vacated by a judge. Salvador Carlos Santiago, 46, will now spend the rest of his life in prison for the Jan. 17, 1985, murder of Patrick Huber, an employee of Minute Man Press. Santiago also fatally shot a convenience store clerk two days before killing Huber. According the The Associated Press, Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning made the decision because prosecutors sought to end Santiago's repeated appeals.
