The deal expands on the previous relationship between the printer and publisher. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is a leading publisher of instructional materials for pre-K through grade 12 schools. Zamora Reaches Settlement with Nogales LOS ANGELES—Graphic Press founder John Zamora reports he has reached a settlement in a lawsuit he brought against Graphic Press LLC, Nogales Investors LLC, Nogales Investment Fund I, Luis Nogales and Mark Mickelson. The defending parties have agreed to pay him $9.2 million, according to Zamora. Zamora says he sued the defendants for slander, breach of contract, wrongful termination, breach of fiduciary duty, wrongful disparagement, intentional interference with contract, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, declaratory relief and equitable indemnity. As part of the settlement, Zamora retains the rights to the identity of the company he founded, Graphic Press Inc., and regains the rights to the name Graphic Press LLC. Mickelson is not to be confused with Printing Impressions Editor-in-Chief Mark Michelson. Change in Ownership for Evergreen Printing BELLMAWR, NJ—Evergreen Printing has been acquired by Carmen Pinto, who assumes the role of company president. Pinto's executive team features Jack Ricciuti, COO; John Dreisbach, vice president of sales and marketing; Steve Weissman, vice president of production; and Melissa Smith, vice president of administration. Heidelberg Posts Quarterly Loss of $28 Million HEIDELBERG, GERMANY—According to its preliminary results, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG will post a second quarter loss of as much as $28 million on sales of about $1.1 billion, a 10 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Its restructuring costs in the quarter could be as much as an additional $28 million. M-real Corp. Sells Business to Sappi Ltd. METSA, FINLAND—M-real Corp., a subsidiary of Metsäliitto Group, has signed an agreement to sell its graphic papers business to Sappi Ltd. for an enterprise value of 750 million euros. The deal consists of 500 million euros in cash and assumed debt, 200 million euros in a vendor loan note from Sappi to M-real and 50 million euros of newly issued shares in Sappi. FedEx Office Lays off 200 in United States MEMPHIS, TN—FedEx Office is laying off 200 people in the United States and another 450 worldwide. The move was done to increase the company's long-term success, a spokesperson for the company told the Dallas Business Journal. A company-wide realignment sees about 20 stores being closed domestically, with another 17 locations around the world also to be shuttered.
