Wikoff Color Opens New Manufacturing Facility

Wikoff Color has converted space in its Fort Mill, SC, manufacturing plant into an energy-cure inkjet ink manufacturing facility and cleanroom suitable for the demanding requirements of producing inkjet inks. The facility houses some of the industry’s most advanced manufacturing and test equipment, providing an ideal environment for manufacturing inkjet inks.

Planting Pinwheels for Peace AMBLER, PA—Kathy Davis Studios recently set out to spread the message of world peace. Pinwheels for Peace, a global art therapy project founded by two teachers in Florida, was chosen as the ideal venture to teach local children and raise awareness over important global initiatives. For the past two years, on September 21 (International Day of Peace), pinwheels are assembled around the world and “planted” into the ground as a public statement and art exhibition. Printing Research Inc. (PRI) and its owner, Howard DeMoore, announced the successful conclusion of a patent infringement suit against a European company. The suit, filed in Germany against Green & Snob Grafik, showed that Green & Snob's product was a direct infringement against PRI's Super Blue 2 StripeNet anti-marking, anti-static nets. Komori, PIA/GATF Press Ahead

SEWICKLEY, PA—Industry research into best practices of sheetfed offset printing with hybrid UV inks and coatings took a major step forward with the donation of a new six-color, 28˝ Komori Lithrone NL28 press for the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) that was dedicated during an open house celebration held here last month. The fourth press donated to GATF by Komori America, the NL28 is equipped with interdeck UV units that, by using special hybrid inks, provide the ability to add a UV coating without changing out rollers and blankets.
