Lancaster, Pennylvania-based Intelligencer has added a new Manroland HiPrint 700 sheetfed offset press. The new press will hang eight plates in four minutes, come up to color in 156 sheets and run at 16,000 sheets an hour. According to Intelligencer’s VP of operations, Joseph Schott, Intelligencer's clients will now enjoy faster turnaround times, less waiting between press approvals and better color control.

Intelligencer Printing of Lancaster, PA, completed the purchase of Lancaster Ultra-Graphics in Landisville, PA, for an undisclosed price. The acquisition is expected to "easily double" Intelligencer Printing's print-on-demand revenue, said Robert Mason, Intelligencer Printing's president and CEO.
Helping to generate that extra revenue will be the addition of Lancaster Ultra-Graphics equipment, including a Xerox iGen4 digital press, and its prepress capabilities, including a photo studio.
The transfer of the Lancaster Ultra-Graphics equipment and eight of its employees from its former location in Landisville to Intelligencer Printing's Eden Road facility is under way and due to be completed by Sunday.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) has named John Saxton, president and CEO of The Sheridan Group, as the 52nd Walter E. Soderstrom Award recipient. Saxton will be honored at NAPL’s annual Soderstrom Society dinner on Oct. 6 at the Mid America Club in Chicago, one night before the start of Graph Expo.
