Flint Group North America Raises Prices on Silicone Web Conditioners

Effective July 1, 2014, Flint Group North America's silicone prices increase 15 percent. The increase is driven by continued cost increases of silicone oil, the key component in silicone emulsions used by heatset web printers. “We appreciate customers’ understanding of the market conditions that make these price increases necessary," stated Michael Kellen, Flint Group’s director of pressroom chemicals.

Advance Publications to Install First Six-Tower Goss Magnum Compact Press in United States

A new six-tower Goss Magnum Compact press, set to be installed at Advance Publications in Staten Island, NY, in the fall, is reported to be the first press of its kind to be installed in the United States. The new press will accommodate a growing volume of contract newspaper, commercial and insert printing, and also backup a double-width press used to print the daily Staten Island Advance newspaper.
