Zenger Group has been an innovative force in the western New York’s printing industry for more than 30 years. At its new corporate headquarters and plant in Tonawanda, NY, the company has installed an eight-color Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 perfector with Axis Control.

The addition of a new five-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 press with Inpress Control, aqueous coater and extended delivery at Ryan Printing in Blauvelt, NY, has transitioned the company from a one-shift operation to a full-size shop.

Heidelberg announces that series production of the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor began in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany, at the start of this year. In Heidelberg USA's North American Print and Packaging Technology Center in Atlanta, the press is installed and ready for demonstrations upon request.

Canadian folding carton manufacturer Ingersoll Paper Box (IPB) will receive a new seven-color, 41" KBA Rapida 106 press equipped with a coater, full UV capabilities, and inline color control, in April 2014. The new KBA press will aid in the production of short-run work for its pharmaceutical customers.

Heidelberg has verified that its XL 75 Anicolor digital offset press is less expensive than a four-up e-ink-based system for runs as low as 250 29x23" sheets based on software from Printing Industries of America (PIA) and its own data.

CPI Card Group has purchased a new eight-color, 41" KBA Rapida 105 press to be delivered in March 2014. The new press joins a one-year-old seven-color, 41" KBA Rapida 105  UV-equipped sheetfed press with tower coater and plastics package.

NextPage of Kansas City, MO, has added an eight-color, 40˝ Komori Lithrone G40 printing press. The nearly $3 million investment is the latest in a string of technology and expansion investments for the company.

Tempt In-Store Productions, a Quad/Graphics co., will be installing the world’s largest sheetfed press, a KBA Rapida 205 superlarge-format press, at its New Berlin, WI, facility, next year. "This new KBA press will allow Tempt to provide a new level of options for retailers and marketers seeking the broadest range of in-store marketing solutions from a single-source supplier," said Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics chairman, president and CEO.

Marshall & Bruce Printing in Nashville, TN, has entered into the large-format arena with the addition of a six-color, 57˝ KBA Rapida 145 press with coater and UV capabilities. The company will use the press to print high-end point-of-purchase and packaging work on a variety of substrates.

Following the introduction of the successful Speedmaster SM 52 and SX 52, Heidelberg has adapted its product portfolio for the new market conditions, thereby ensuring it covers the entire spectrum of relevant applications. As a consequence, production of the Printmaster GTO 52 will be phased out from March 2014.
