xpedx Introduces New, Full-format Ryobi Printing Press to U.S. Market

September 2007

LOVELAND, OH—Sept. 6—xpedx Printing Technologies and Ryobi showcase the U.S. debut of the new full-format, RYOBI 920 Series of four-and five-color presses at Graph Expo 2007 in Chicago, September 9-12.

The 8-up press is the largest ever introduced by Ryobi in the U.S. and underscores the commitment of xpedx and Ryobi to provide a full-line offering of highly advanced multi-color offset presses to U.S. printers. xpedx is North America’s largest distributor of printing papers and graphics supplies and equipment.

xpedx Printing Technologies, the exclusive U.S. marketer and distributor of Ryobi-branded presses, will be demonstrating the RYOBI 924, a 24” x 36” four-color press at booth 3808 during the show and launching U.S. sales of the press. Also demonstrated at Graph Expo are Ryobi’s state-of-the-art half- and quarter-size presses with dryers, coaters and UV systems.

he new RYOBI 920 Series, including the RYOBI 924, targets commercial, in-plant and specialty printers who are looking to affordably obtain the capabilities of a full-size press.

“It’s eight-up productivity at a six-up price,” said Tim Kirby, National Sales Manager of Lenexa, KS-based xpedx Printing Technologies. “This press series is ideal for printers looking to produce book work, pocket folders, posters and other specialty jobs-without the higher costs of a 40-inch press.”

The new RYOBI 920 series has a double-diameter cylinder and transfer drum design, which minimizes marking. The press prints up to 24-point stock and runs at 16,200 sheets per hour.

“The RYOBI 920 series has a lower initial investment, lower electrical costs and lower plate costs versus other presses-and also has the hard-working reliability of Ryobi presses,” said Kirby. “The space saving design on these presses is also helpful for printers who are tight on square footage.”

The press improves operating efficiencies with automated and labor-saving features such as semi-automatic plate loading, suction tape feeder board, the PCS-G Printing Control Console with programmed inking, Ryobi-matic continuous dampening, ink roller and blanket auto-cleaning, JDF compatibility and much more. And, as with all Ryobi presses, the 920 Series allows for fast makereadies, improving throughput and efficiency.

There are a variety of add-on options including an impression pressure preset system and CIP4-ink volume setter.

Some of the 50 Ryobi dealers from around the U.S. will be attending. Information about Ryobi presses is online at http://ryobi.xpedx.com or phone 800-553-4980 for more information.
