World Premieres in Ferag Finishing

April 2008
HINWIL, SWITZERLAND—April 2008—The Pacesetter+FERAG is a new gatherer-stitcher that can be expanded to accept up to 40 hoppers for selective binding with inside and outside printing. The new SNT-30 trimming drum has been integrated into the system in order to pass on the maximum 25,000 cph performance and carry out parallel processing of different high-page-count products. Ferag Verfahrenstechnik GmbH is responsible for producing the PacesetterTM+FERAG, while sales and service are secured through WRH Marketing AG with its 22 subsidiaries worldwide.

In conjunction with the PacesetterTM+FERAG, WRH Marketing will be presenting its JobFolio range of components. JobFolio incorporates selected, CE-compliant quality products for use with finishing systems from Ferag and other manufacturers. Currently available in the series is the JobStack 2075 compensating stacker, the JobFeed log feeding system and the JobStrap N tying machine for single or cross strapping. JobFolio series machines are offered at attractive set prices that include delivery.

Under the ValuePlus brand, WRH Marketing has brought together a complete service offering. With the products DOMINO (Service), CHESS (Training), MEMORY (Material) and MIKADO (Line installation), users of Ferag installations achieve permanently high productivity throughout the whole working life of their system. ValuePlus services are secured worldwide through WRH Marketing’s established sales and service network with more than 20 subsidiaries in all key markets.

On a production line with RollSertDrum inserting drum, StreamStitch stitching component and SNT-U trimming drum, Ferag will be showcasing the high level of integration of the Ferag system and its potential uses all the way through to the production of high-quality semi-commercials. When switching products, format changes are carried out by the new PreTronic N presetting system.

In the area of mailroom control, Ferag will be presenting LineMaster with a newly designed interactive interface. Grouping the principal functions together on a single screen display makes it easy for operators to configure and operate the line and is an effective way to lighten the production monitoring workload.

The UniDrum gathering-stitching system and the SNT-U trimming drum will be on show for the first time with central PreTronic CV presetting. At a touch of the screen, all relevant components automatically reset to the entered values in a matter of seconds. With QualityEye, Ferag has developed a Quality Assurance system based on image recognition. The system detects each separate folded sheet and monitors the correct sheet position during the gathering process.

With the all new PolyStream, Ferag is establishing polybagging on an industrial scale. PolyStream produces at 30,000 foil-wrapped and addressed bundles per hour and surpasses familiar systems by a factor of three. The gathering, packaging and welding functions have undergone fundamental redevelopment. For the first time, the repair function has been integrated into the gathering process.
