Verso Paper Reaches Union Deal to Avert Strike

BUCKSPORT, ME—Verso Paper mill and three unions representing a lion’s share of the nearly 800 workers here ratified a four-year contract to avoid a strike, the Bangor (ME) Daily News reported.
Members of the United Steel Workers, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers ratified the pact in separate votes after rejecting a proposal earlier in November.
