This Gold Ink Entry Challenges Your 'Green Thumb'

Nothing screams summer more than this week's Gold Ink Awards entry titled "True Value Green Thumb 2014 Product Assortment," which was entered into the Business Catalogs, Sheetfed, category. One of the world's largest retailer-owned hardware cooperatives, True Value's product catalog for retailers, highlights the company's first-ever Green Thumb private label brand lawn and garden product assortment. Images of people planting and children playing in the sunshine, with daisies scattered throughout the cover, encourage retailers to promote and carry the higher-margin line of lawn and garden products.

The catalog was printed by Schiele Graphics, in Elk Grove Village, IL, on a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000L sheetfed press. The run length was 7,000 copies. The cover was printed on 24-pt. MeadWestvaco Tango C2S Coated Cover stock, and a spot UV dull strikethrough varnish was also applied for an added effect. The body of the catalog was printed on 80-lb. gloss text.

According to April Clark, operations manager at Schiele Graphics, the 48-page catalog was also Wire-o bound by Platinum Converting in Itasca, IL.
