The Marek Group Acquires Publisher’s Diversified Mail Service

WAUKESHA, WI—September 13, 2013—The Marek Group, a nationally recognized channel sales and marketing firm with commercial printing, fulfillment and direct marketing production, has acquired Publisher’s Diversified Mail Service, a 65-year-old Milwaukee-based direct marketing company.

The Marek Group’s acquisition of Publisher’s Diversified will provide additional postal expertise, data analysts and programmers, and a robust lettershop to enhance Marek’s direct marketing business. Publisher’s direct mail operations will integrate into The Marek Group’s Waukesha, WI, manufacturing facility, while its literature fulfillment-related business will move to Marek’s new Fulfillment Center in West Allis, WI.

The Marek Group CEO Fuzzy Marek said the acquisition is a strategic move; an opportunity that not only enhances the company's current technology platform and fills a capacity need in its lettershop, but also brings a more sophisticated postal and freight optimization platform to its customer base. “Our customers have always appreciated our ability to help drive their channel sales up and their cost of sales down,” Marek added. “This is another big step to continue that pursuit for our customers.”

Tami Marek-Loper, president and COO of The Marek Group, also shared that it has been an exciting past few months at the company. "We recently finished the installation of three new digital presses in June, moved to our new state-of-the-art Fulfillment Center in July, and we’ve now acquired a highly reputable company with tremendous industry knowledge and expertise to bolster our growing direct marketing business. It’s a big win for our combined customer base."

The Marek Group’s last acquisition was in 2011 when it purchased Brandspring Solutions, a full-service channel sales and marketing agency based in Minneapolis.
