The Graphic Division of Steinemann Technology AG Celebrates its Most Successful Drupa Ever

June 2008
ST. GALLEN, SWITZERLAND—June 25, 2008—Drupa 2008 was the most successful exhibition of all time for the Graphic Division of Steinemann Technology AG. For example, the market and technological leader in the field of high-end print finishing sold more than 10 high-performance systems to customers from all over the world during drupa. In addition, the project situation at Steinemann Technology is currently excellent, holding the promise of extremely good follow-up business after the event. That applies not only to the entire product portfolio, but also to the further expansion of the company’s global presence.

“drupa was an enormous success for our company, demonstrating once again that our concentration on high-end finishing puts us in an outstanding position on the market. After all, in contrast to other manufacturers, we geared all our activities entirely to the development and marketing of the corresponding technologies from the very beginning. As a result, our machines perform substantially better than those of our competitors, both as regards quality and also in terms of flexibility and productivity. And since we uncompromisingly focus on top performance in one specific market segment, our customers can pull out all the stops when it comes to finishing their clients’ print products,” says Jürg Spittler, Vice-President of Steinemann Technology AG and Director of the Graphic Division, summing up his company’s success at drupa.

In total, Steinemann Technology sold more than ten high-speed varnishing and laminating machines to customers from all over the world during drupa – including leading (packaging) printers and finishers from such countries as Austria, Mexico, Korea, Poland, Syria, Spain, the Ukraine and Turkey. With no less than seven HIBIS 104 high-end rotary screen and flexo printing machines for UV varnishing, the flagship of the Steinemann Technology system portfolio fared particularly well. However, enormous interest was also attracted by the new SYRIUS high-end laminating machine for water-based and thermal lamination, the second generation of which celebrated its world première at this year’s drupa. Given the excellent project situation, Steinemann Technology also expects to do particularly good business with this innovative machine after the exhibition. Moreover, a number of COLIBRI varnishing machines and LOTUS laminating machines were sold, and the way was paved for numerous further sales.

The company’s very attractively designed exhibition stand attracted a constant stream of visitors and offered live demonstrations of print finishing with glitter and relief varnishes on the HIBIS 104, and of laminating on the SYRIUS. In this way, visitors could get a personal, on-the-spot impression of the high quality and productivity of the high-performance machines from the Swiss market and technological leader under real production conditions. The results obtained were so impressive that even customers who had previously had no dealings with the company spontaneously purchased machines.
