German Trainer Comes to Jersey

WESTAMPTON, NJ—Dietmar Block, technical advisor from the Wohlenberg paper cutter factory in Germany, recently held a five-day, in-depth training course here at the headquarters of MBO America to help keep the company's technicians up-to-date on the latest paper cutting techniques.

Komori America has consolidated the Komori HRB and Komori Midwest sales territories. Mike VanCalbergh, vice president of sales, Midwest region, now manages the new territory, which covers Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and western Pennsylvania.

Dr. Horst Steppat is now responsible for R&D and service at basysPrint in Germany. In his previous position at Heidelberg, Steppat was product manager of computer-to-film and computer-to-plate equipment.

Anne Mulcahy, chairman and CEO of Xerox Corp., has been named the recipient of the 2003 Prism Award. The award is presented by New York University in recognition of distinguished leadership in the graphic arts and communications industry. Sponsored by the University's Center for Graphic Communications Management and Technology, the award will be presented by Stephanie Streeter, president and CEO of Banta Corp,. at the 18th annual Prism Award luncheon on June 12th at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Presstek Inc. and Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) have entered into a relationship for KPG to market, sell and service a direct digital imaging press and related consumables in the United States and Canada. The new KPG DI solution is a two-page, four-color Ryobi platform DI press, which is enabled by Presstek's ProFire imaging and thermal plate technology.

NexPress Solutions has appointed Alexander van Meeuwen as vice president of global sales for its color business unit. He joins NexPress from Esna Ltd., where he served as chairman and interim CEO. Prior to that, van Meeuwen was president of Agfa Corp.'s Graphic Systems business unit.

Vio Inc. announced the appointment of Alan Darling to executive vice president for the U.S. headquarters in Roseland, NJ. Darling makes this move at a time when Vio is expanding its file transfer services in the United States.

Kenneth Collins, senior vice president of corporate purchasing and supply chain management, has retired from Sun Chemical after 39 years. He began his career at Sun Chemical in 1964 in the R&D lab of the company's Electro Tech division. In a related move, Greg Nelson has joined the company as corporate vice president and chief procurement officer.
