Colter & Peterson further expanded its range of services by purchasing all microcut related assets from Graphic Machinery and Systems (GMS). These assets have been organized in a new C&P division, C&P Microsystems LLC.
Enovation Graphic Systems announced the acquisition of the Enfield, CT, business (formerly known as Blooms Inc.) of Northeastern Graphic Supply based in Portland, ME. In other news, Enovation has gone live with its Astea Alliance software solution for nationwide customer service management.
Sun Chemical has created Vivitek, a services and and distribution company that offers a range of services and non-ink consumable products (fountain solutions, blankets, washes, densitometers, pH meters, etc.) for prepress, pressroom and finishing operations. The Vivitek sales and technical service is being headed by industry veterans Mike Stone and Nick Federico.
MAN Roland's 41˝ sheetfed system, the ROLAND 700, has reached a new production milestone, with the 15,000th printing unit of the press recently installed at a packaging/POP printer in Japan. The record-breaking 15,000th unit is part of a five-color press with coater that is now producing for the Toyouke packaging printing company in Kawasaki City. In other company news, Eric Belcher has moved up from his post as CFO to become COO of sheetfed operations. Steve Gilland takes over the role of CFO, joining MAN Roland from Nordstrom. Also, Timothy Mandich has been assigned as a sheetfed press sales representative in Wisconsin, and Susan Klutnick is the new Western regional sales manager for commercial web products.
Creo Inc. announced the appointment of Michael Ciaramella, former vice president of sales for Creo Americas, to the position of corporate director of sales development. Also, the company reports that the Prism Group, a supplier of integrated MIS software, is the newest partner in Creo's Networked Graphic Production. This initiative delivers modular solutions through Creo, Prism and other vendors' products to create a JDF-based print production environment.
Day International has appointed several new associates to its sales, service and technical support team. The new associates include: Kelly Becker, account manager, Western Canada; Gene Bagwell, technical support representative, Southern region; Chris Crescenzo, account manager, Chicago; Paul Fiorelli, account manager, New York City; Brian Hadden, account manager, New England; and Nic Visser, distribution manager, Eastern region.
Jetrion LLC, a new company powered by Flint Ink to provide ink-jet products, services and custom printing solutions, has announced its executive leadership team. Headed by Dr. Kenneth Stack, former vice president/general manager of Flint Ink's digital division and new president of Jetrion, the leadership team includes: Gary Swager, vice president of integrated solutions; Paul Edwards, technical director; Sean Skelly, director of product management; Dean Haertel, director of sales and marketing; Jason Oliver, director of sales and marketing of integrated solutions; Brad Scott, manufacturing manager; and Thomas Im, controller/finance.
