Buhrs, a producer of mailing and fulfillment solutions, has announced its intention to enter the market for FSI collating and wrapping systems for the newspaper industry. Buhrs has appointed Don Piontek, of Finishing Resources, to develop its presence in the market.

John Kia has been named manager, production product marketing, for IBM Printing Systems. Also, Chris Reid has been named commercial print solutions manager. In this capacity, he is responsible for worldwide output solutions customized for commercial printers, including service bureaus, direct mailers and book printers.

FileAmerica, a custom file folder manufacturer, is celebrating its 30th year serving the trade in the printing industry. Formerly known as Lyon Folder, FileAmerica changed ownership and revamped itself over the past three years, investing in printing, folding and diecutting equipment, while expanding its facility in order to withstand its growth.

MAN Roland has partnered with Maxson Automatic Machinery to become the exclusive worldwide distributor of Maxson's in-line sheeters for wide-format sheetfed presses. As a result, a purpose-built Maxson sheeter is now available for every Roland 900 format.

The Mallett Group, a developer of customer loyalty and reward programs, has partnered with NAK Marketing & Communications to extend the range of customer-retention services that New York City-based NAK can provide to its clients.

Creo Inc. announced several appointments to the Creo Americas management team as a result of the consolidation of North American operations that began in August 2004. David O'Brien has been named vice president of operations and finance. Filip Buyse now serves as vice president of sales. Barry Quart has been appointed vice president of marketing. O'Brien and Quart are based in Vancouver. Buyse is based in Dallas.

General Graphic Co. reports the establishment of an East Coast branch, located in Salem, NH. This facility will serve as a warehouse and sales office under the direction of John Mathews. Located in Oakland, CA, General Graphic is a manufacturer and master distributor of equipment and supplies for the graphic arts industry.

Diamond Holding Corp. has named graphic arts supplier Phillips and Associates, North Kansas City, as its exclusive representative in the Missouri area. Diamond Roller has made all of its products and services available to Phillips and Associates.

Lasermax Roll Systems has named William Carroll as president, Americas, and Jeff Kewin has been appointed executive vice president, worldwide marketing and business development. Founded in 2004 after a merger between Roll Systems and the Lasermax division of Stralfors, Lasermax Roll Systems is a producer of automated paper handling, monitoring, finishing and converting equipment for the digital printing industry.
