X-Rite Inc. announced that Joseph D. Pargola has joined its North America Imaging Business Unit as manager of dealer development. In his role, Pargola is responsible for managing, developing and expanding X-Rite’s dealer relationships and channels for the graphic arts and medical markets. Most recently, he served as vice president of worldwide sales for Shira.

Grafix North America/AWS has realigned its executive staff. Jeff G. Miller has been appointed president, taking over for John Stout who will stay on as chief technology officer. Miller, formerly COO, has been with Grafix since 1996. Other moves include Steve Russell, vice president of manufacturing; Angelo Possemato, vice president of sales and marketing; Geoff Park, vice president of customer service; and Richard Rossi, CFO.

Enovation Graphic Systems has named Steven Greenstein as the company’s sales manager for the Seattle branch. He most recently held a sales management position with PrimeSource.

Ray Grupp, founder and president of Accel Graphic Systems, has stepped down to pursue other interests. Lance Carpenter is now general manager of the company. Carpenter has been with Accel for 13 years, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing.

MBO America now sells and services Wohlenberg cutters and Baumann paper handling systems as a “package deal.” In this arrangement, Wohlenberg and Baumann agreed to have MBO sell their equipment in conjunction with MBO folding machines, which in turn becomes a one-stop and fast solution for end users.

Arizona State University (ASU) presented Kevin Clifford, of Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), with the 2002 Z.A. Prust Award of Recognition for support of higher education in the graphic arts. KPG, an ASU supporter for more than 20 years, provides film processors, photographic products and imaging technology to the school’s Graphic Communications program.

C. Barnes & Co., a market research and publishing company for the printing industry, has come to an agreement with industry M&A and financial services company Compass Capital Partners. Under this relationship, Compass Capital Partners will add its industry expertise to the compilation and review of the Printing & Graphic Arts Directory.
