New Digs for Graphics Microsystems

ROCKWALL, TX—Graphics Microsystems (GMI), headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, opened its new 50,000-square-foot facility here in February to increase capacity for its Microcolor ink controls, ColorQuick closed-loop color control systems and PrintQuick color-to-color register systems.


The shareholders of Check Technology Corp. have approved a proposal to change the company's name to Delphax Technologies.

Rudi Lenz has joined Sun Chemical as senior vice president and CFO. Most recently, Lenz served as president and CEO of Fairchild Aircraft.

SICPA North America, a provider of ink solutions to printers of labels, plastic cards, packaging and carton gravure applications, has appointed JoEllen Lawler as director of human resources.

Louis Bruno, founder of Harris & Bruno, has passed away. Mr. Bruno founded the company with Mel Harris in 1948 in Northern California, as a highly reputable "machine shop."

MAN Roland is streamlining its spare parts and supplies department in North America. The effort is centered on the relocation of MAN Roland's spare parts and supplies warehousing and distribution operations from the East Coast to a more central site. The transition from the company's logistics center in Middlesex, NJ, to a new facility near its Illinois headquarters has begun and is scheduled to be completed by early summer. MAN Roland stores multiples of more than 20,000 separate items in its main inventory, supporting the full range of web press, sheetfed and bindery systems it installs. In addition, the company's parts operation provides a complete range of consumable items for its customers.

INX International Ink has appointed Kevin Yeazell to vice president of sales and marketing for the sheetfed offset division. His most recent position was vice president of sales for the commercial division of Flint Ink.

Independent Machinery had added Richard Tauscher to its staff. He joins the company as regional sales manager. Tauscher now works out of Moorestown, NJ, covering territory along the Eastern seaboard, from New England to Florida. He has more than 20 years of experience in paper packaging, plastic packaging and capital equipment sales.

X-Rite Inc. announced that Joseph D. Pargola has joined its North America Imaging Business Unit as manager of dealer development. In his role, Pargola is responsible for managing, developing and expanding X-Rite's dealer relationships and channels for the graphic arts and medical markets. Most recently, he served as vice president of worldwide sales for Shira.

Grafix North America/AWS has realigned its executive staff. Jeff G. Miller has been appointed president, taking over for John Stout who will stay on as chief technology officer. Miller, formerly COO, has been with Grafix since 1996. Other moves include Steve Russell, vice president of manufacturing; Angelo Possemato, vice president of sales and marketing; Geoff Park, vice president of customer service; and Richard Rossi, CFO.
