Strine Printing Adding a Fifth Large-Format Roland 900XXL Press
YORK, PA—Sept. 27, 2010—Strine Printing, the largest independent large-format printer in North America, is adding its fifth manroland press, a Roland 906XXL 64” sheefted offset press with coater to be installed in early 2011.
2009 marked the 10th anniversary of Strine’s York packaging plant. The facility helped usher in a new era of exceptional growth, which began in 2003 with the decision to purchase the printer’s first large-format press, a 55˝, six-color Roland 900 XXL. The goal was to move beyond the saturated 40˝ market to deliver a wider range of folding carton, point-of-purchase and packaging work.
The point was, “to separate ourselves from competition,” as Dave Kornbau, VP of Operations put it then.
The fifth press is fully equipped and customized to Strine’s specifications with InlineColorPilot, System Brunner okBalance for grey balance evaluation and control to ensure color reproduction on the 64˝ wide stock, addressing the POP and POS markets.
All In One Package
“All in One Package” is Strine slogan. With the capacity and flexibility of five manroland large-format presses, the printer is in position to print anything, any size, any time. This is a major part of what sets it apart from the competition, as are the people at Strine, who really know their business, the art of printing and the way it all works together.
Michael Mugavero, vice president of sales at manroland stated, “Strine Printing and manroland share a parallel view, that being—performance solutions are a component of technology, organization and people. By successfully bringing these key elements of our respective companies together, Strine’s innovative vision for its company’s growth and well being has been effectively realized.’’
Strine’s Kornbau agrees, “The right people and the best equipment allow us to provide the most value that our customers deserve.”
