xpedx Employee Killed in Workplace Accident

PEWAUKEE, WI—A 52-year-old employee at an xpedx plant was killed last Monday after getting crushed by a five-foot stack of paper. According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Andrew Blechacz was working inside the warehouse when a shelving unit stacked with pallets of copy paper toppled over and trapped him.

Emergency medical services and fire crews joined employees and sheriff’s department deputies in trying to save the victim. The accident is still under investigation and the plant was closed to allow workers time to grieve, according to WTMJ-TV.

Blechacz left behind a wife and three sons.
