August 2008
SCHAUMBURG, IL—August 15, 2008—Highlighting the Sakurai family of fully automated sheetfed offset presses in Booth Number 3037 at Graph Expo ’08 in Chicago will be a Sakurai 466SDC, 20” x 26” 4-color with coater and a Sakurai 575SDC, 23 5/8” x 31” 5-color with coater. Also featured will be Sakurai’s Maestro MS-102AII, ultra-high precision cylinder screen press with a 29 1/2” x 41 5/16” sheet size.
Sakurai 66 Series
The fully automated Sakurai 66 Series is available in straight or perfecting versions with or without coaters from four to six printing units in a format size of 20” x 26”. This new 66 series incorporates the proven features from the SD family, including double diameter cylinder configuration and built-in automation. The popular sheet size and large, 19 1/8” x 26” image area allows the use of standard paper and cover stocks. Sakurai’s newest entry makes the business of short-run, fast turnaround printing highly productive and profitable. The top running speed of 16,000 sheets per hour, plus high pile delivery, help trim the time required for long run jobs. Sakurai also offers a fully automated, space saving 466SD/SDP, 20” X 26” 4-color convertible perfector, which runs at 16,000 IPH.
Sakurai 75 Series
The fully automated Sakurai 75 SD Series presses feature a double diameter cylinder configuration and are available in straight or perfecting versions with or without coaters and from four to six printing units. The larger, expanded sheet size of 23 5/8” x 31” now allows ample room for 6-up 8 ½” x 11”. This new size makes it possible to perfect, or work and tumble 3 panel jobs with bleeds and color bars. Sakurai’s three quarter size format provides up to a 50% productivity boost to half size printers. The increased capacity of the 6-up format combined with a maximum running speed of 15,000 IPH now bridges the gap between traditional half and full size markets.
Sakurai 96 Series
Continuing its growth and expansion of press offerings, Sakurai has introduced the new 16 page format 96 Series, which accepts a 25” x 38” sheet and operates at 16,000 IPH and is available in straight or perfecting models, with or without coater – from four to six printing units.
The new Sakurai 96 Series is a welcome addition to the SD family of presses, first introduced to the North American market at Graph Expo ‘07 and was featured at Drupa ‘08. The 25” x 38” size has been requested by many Sakurai customers who have been growing into the 16-page format, but had no continuing choice from Sakurai. This addition will allow Sakurai to maintain their loyal customer base as their needs grow and also appeal to any printer desiring to move up to a fully automated 16 page press.
