Quad/Graphics Awarded Multi-Year Contract Extension from Condé Nast
SUSSEX, WI—Dec. 23, 2009—Quad/Graphics has been awarded a new multi-year contract with Condé Nast calling for Quad to continue print production on 11 of the publisher’s magazine titles through year-end 2013. The titles, some of the most well-known brands on the newsstand today, include: Allure, Architectural Digest, Details, Golf Digest, Golf World, GQ, Lucky, Teen Vogue, Self, Vogue and Wired.
“The total package that Quad brings to the print-production process provides the best overall value for Condé Nast,” said David Orlin, Senior Vice President of Operations & Strategic Sourcing for the publisher. “The decision came down to Quad's performance over the past several years and the overall strong partnership we’ve been able to form with the printer.”
Orlin continued: “Quad employees take great pride in what they do and they think about the best ways we can improve our business and be more efficient at how we do things. It’s a true partnership.”
“I think it’s an enormous vote of confidence in Quad’s people and capabilities that Condé Nast renewed with us,” said Quad/Graphics President & CEO Joel Quadracci. “We continue to earn their trust based on our performance as well as our commitment to investing in our manufacturing platform.”
This newly extended contract is separate from a long-standing prepress agreement Quad renewed earlier this year with Condé Nast through year-end 2012.
Other factors that led Condé Nast to extend its relationship with Quad/Graphics, according to Orlin, are the company’s service and cost efficiencies, including co-mailing. “Quad has been a great partner in helping us grow and develop a more efficient supply chain.”
