MARIETTA, GA—03/12/07—“Our goal is to become a partner with our customers, essentially an extension of their production capabilities...and to do that, we must produce high quality work and meet their deadlines,” says Lisa Weissman, President of QC Bindery & Mailing, Inc. in explaining the main reasons why her company recently installed a Muller Martini BravoPlus T saddle stitcher.

“The BravoPlus T was chosen because of the ease of set ups, faster production speed and the 2-up capability. We also added the option of the calendar punch which has been used for several large jobs already,” continues Ms. Weissman. All of those production benefits are helping to make QC Bindery & Mailing more responsive to its customers’ needs, which in turn positions the company for greater sales growth.

QC Bindery & Mailing began operations in August, 2006 and has already experienced tremendous growth. The company serves trade printers, primarily providing stitching and folding as well as an increasing scope of mailing services. The BravoPlus T was installed to complement a Muller Martini Presto stitcher that has been on the shop floor since QC Bindery & Mailing commenced operations. “It quickly became apparent that if we really wanted to compete we needed the capabilities that the BravoPlus T could provide. After we installed the equipment our work load increased so dramatically that we knew we needed a second machine in order to meet our production needs,” says Ms. Weissman.

Another BravoPlus T is expected to be installed at QC Bindery & Mailing in April, 2007.

Why all the loyalty to Muller Martini equipment? “My partner, Quay Dang, has had extensive experience with Muller Martini stitchers over the years and would consider nothing else. He knows the equipment and he always knows that when he needs support it is there,” states Lisa Weissman.

The user-friendly Muller Martini BravoPlus T saddle stitcher provides a level of automation that is unmatched in the mid-range performance class. Capable of producing product at 11,000 c/hr., BravoPlus T delivers maximum uptime and exceptional net output. Partial AMRYS (Automatic Make-Ready System) is also available optionally, as is simple integration into a main MIS system...with JDF capability according to the CIP4 standard. When equipped with partial AMRYS, BravoPlus T offers convenient and highly efficient computer-aided make-ready and changeover, enabling fast set-ups and allowing the machine to be customized in moments to meet changing job requirements.

The BravoPlus T stitcher features PLC assisted controls and comfortable touchscreen operation with simple adjustment of clinchers. BravoPlus T also comes equipped with a three-knife trimmer and due to its modular design, it can be expanded at any time to feed up to 14 signatures or 12 signatures with a cover folder feeder – meeting the requirements of growing printing and binding businesses. Other key advantages include: touchless stitcher control from below; gripper and suction opening; individual 1:2/1:1 gearing; heavy-duty in-line single book trimmer; frequency controlled drive; and an easy-maintenance central lubrication system on the stitching machine and three-knife trimmer. Top-quality production on the BravoPlus T is closely controlled through selectable options that include: copy control, ASIR (optical automatic signature image recognition), lateral thickness measurement by side caliper, oblique sheet monitor, thickness measurement by ridge caliper, stitch monitor, trim monitor, and sequential on/off.
