MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO—Annan & Bird Lithographers, a Consolidated Graphics (CGX) company, has purchased a six-color, 64˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 162 VLF sheetfed press. It features Prinect Inpress Control, in-line color measurement and control, as well as an aqueous coater. The large-
format offset press is slated to be installed this spring.

processing, continuous form lasering, 
inkjetting and insertion. The lettershop allows it to handle all aspects of the mail production cycle under one roof, lowering costs, adding flexibility and reducing turnaround times.

NPG Printing Reduces Staff

ST. JOSEPH, MO—NPG Printing, a member of the News-Press & Gazette Co., is eliminating 21 positions and will cut back on the number of shifts at its production facility, the Associated Press reported. The cutback, which leaves the firm with 51 employees, was prompted by the loss of a publishing deal and the closure of a newspaper.

Printer Receives Grant

NORWICH, CT—The Minuteman Press franchise here has qualified for a $48,000 grant through Connecticut’s Small Business Express Program to expand its business and create jobs.
