The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) announced its new officers and board members. New officers include chairman, Stephen L. Johnson, president of RR Donnelley-State (Columbia, SC), replacing Joan B. Davidson, group president of Sheridan Publication Services. Other elected officers include vice chairman, William “Bill” Woods Jr., president and CEO of The EPI Companies; and secretary/treasurer, Keith Kemp, president of Xerographic Digital Printing. In addition, David Pitts, president of Classic Graphics, has been named to the board’s executive committee. New board members include: Charles “Chuck” Gehman, director, product management of EFI; Kevin Joyce, managing director of Eastman Kodak; and Niels M. Winther, chairman and co-owner of Think Patented.

Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print (NG/PP) has tapped Steve Macres as director of direct mail services at its Las Vegas division, Graphics West. In his new position, Macres will focus on continuing the growth of direct mail services by expanding his current relationships in the market and providing support to the sales force.

St. Paul, MN-based Impressions Inc. has hired Joe Kocik and Jon Kush as sales representatives. Kocik will primarily work with promotional and commercial printing. Kush will be working with software cartons and other aspects of packaging.

The 2008 officers of PIA/GATF were installed recently. They include: chairman of the board, Janet Green, CEO of Greens Inc.; first vice chairman, Ken Kaufman, chairman and CEO of Omniprint; second vice chairman, Bill Gibson, vice president of sales of Rider Dickerson; secretary, Michael Keene, president and CEO of The John Roberts Co.; and treasurer, Hal Slager of Trico Graphics, who will continue his term. Joining the board are Mark Rand, Curt Kreisler, Robert Lindgren, Chris Parrilli, Joseph Schmissrauter, Michael Kucharski and Jeff Ekstein. Joining the PIA/GATF Executive Committee are Nick Wagner, Tim Burton, Jim Mayes and Charlie Calhoun.

Arandell Corp., based in Menomonee, WI, has appointed Blake Hutchison as its director of purchasing. Hutchison will focus on the management and direction of the company’s paper utilization and work to expand the company’s paper purchasing services.
